I am about 2/3rds of the way thru Joker But that is a line from Burton's Batman, not the Joker movie Which I found horrible. I really didn't care for the Joker movie.

It has been forever since I saw it so I have forgotten the specific arguments. I do recall the ending reminded me of another movie.

It was awfully dark and bleak
It had elements of V for Vendetta and Watchmen for me
I did like the brutality of De Niro's confrontation

Whatever his origin, the Joker has become mythical in the Batman Villains. To make him so mundane a loser. I know for one my issue was Joker is a fricken villain mastermind. How the hell do you get from Phoenix's Joker to a character who taxes the mental deductiveness of the World's Greatest Detective (per the title of the comic book)?

the title was Christine......... I gotta say I enjoyed the Stephen King movie much more
her quote: In keeping with Channel 40's policy of bringing you the latest in blood and guts, and in living color, you are going to see another first: attempted suicide.

Haven't seen that one. Something about the people supporting him on the street...was it an anime? I would need to watch the movie agai. & I don't see myself watching it again

I think you'd like it. The lead is a decent enough actress.
anime?
I was reminded how everyone in public got a mask in V for Vendetta.........and how rowdy and riotous the crowds got in Watchmen (when coincidentally the Comedian is called in for crowd control)
Yeah, I don't think it'll be one I bother with again. Though I do think there is room for discussion on how large crowds of people identify so much with characters like that. Victimhood is a valuable asset these days.

Exactly..that Joker was pathetic..a very pale imitation..the quintessential Joker would shoot him so quick and not even bat an eye. The sequel will have Lady Gaga as Harley and be a musical (or partially) last time I checked. Cant say Im thrilled.

I would trust her assessment, as she seems like one of the more reasonable posters here. merh even understands that it's possible to like Marvel and DC at the same time.
