Interesting concept. I like the vision and scale they had back then for the world to be built and how technology would be.
Vive les années folles!

I have a fondness for vintage concepts of the future or possible scientific advances. Steampunk is fine but doesn’t quite match the hopes and dreams depicted in early 20th century media.

That's one movie I haven't watched in a long time.
I might need to watch it again.

I have a fondness for vintage concepts of the future or possible scientific advances. Steampunk is fine but doesn’t quite match the hopes and dreams depicted in early 20th century media. I share the same feeling but also towards the positivity and enthusiasm people had about travelling and the idea that the world was "still to be discovered/explored". Even though looking at pictures isn't quite being there in person, we can see virtually any corner of the globe while looking on the Internet while you had to be there back then and live it.
That would have been epic. The 2011 version was something for sure but then people knew a bit more about the world so the amazement may not have been the same.
