Jose gone, they must have someone in place I'd guess to do it so close to the new window. Although, it seems that one of Jose's complaints was that managers may not be involved in recruitment any more at Man U.

Good call. Knew it was coming. He complained about not getting money for centre backs but they gave him money for Bailly and Lidelof and they were shit. Then he complained about scouting (insinuating they weren't players he bought). The he complained about performance (Sanchez and Pogba can't perform under his anti football).

Saw it coming 4 years ago. Weak performance all-round, useless wingers and strikers who ran like centre backs. Crossing skills hopeless, corners always flawed and keeping just not up to par.
You might as well have had two big fat black geezers sitting on the line eating KFC.

That's why I reckon they must have tapped someone up already. Otherwise, what with the interviewing process and the time for a new manager to bring in his own backroom staff and identify what's needed at the club, they would never have the time to make changes in January. The squad is definitely better than their league position, but how much better? they should be on a par with the London clubs but can't see them competing with the top 2 without some new ideas/players. It's also very easy to blame all the woes on Jose but there's a lot of players there who need to hold their hands up to some pretty unprofessional performances. When you have a chief executive and a manager at war and a small scale dressing room revolt then they are probably punching above their weight. It's easy to forget that Fergie was very shrewd getting out when he did as there was a lot of rebuilding needed and the managers who followed were always on a hiding to nothing. They've got a good keeper though.

They've got a good keeper though. The only meaningful candidate is Pochettino and they won't get him until the summer. No-one (available) has shown themselves to be good enough.

Pochettino would be a great choice and who knows, he's probably gone as far as he can at Spurs, especially given the new ground and the tight arse chairman. I think there is a lot of other things wrong at United though than just the manager. Will he go there if he has to take orders from a power mad chief exec? If Pogba suddenly starts putting in some effort now, I bet there will be a lot of pissed off United supporters, though.
