Interesting work.
Velum, that's something I hadn't thought about in years, since my industrial design studies years are way behind me.

Glad you like it. Here's a few more that I added to my Pinterest gallery. To everybody-Tell me what Ideas these illustrations conjure up in your mind. Like, how do these creatures entities come into being? How do they survive/subsist?

Interesting work. Velum, that's something I hadn't thought about in years, since my industrial design studies years are way behind me.
Glad you like it. Here's a few more that I added to my Pinterest gallery. To everybody-Tell me what Ideas these illustrations conjure up in your mind. Like, how do these creatures entities come into being? How do they survive/subsist? Well, there are many things that comes to mind.
Let's begin the exploration through the one that stands out the most (from those posted):
In this picture, the center of attention (or where you eyes are drawn to first) is the floating symbol. I say floating because from this picture size (maybe full screen size allows for more details to be observed), it seems to no be connected to anything directly underneath it. Maybe it is connected to the "roots/branches" on top of the blocks but then, we can only imagine the symbol being connected from the back but not from the side, the front of the bottom. It does not seem to be biologically mixed like other creations/structures seen either yet that is the center piece here.
Obviously the rounder yet hollow "spheres" laying around do remind us of tumbleweed but the symbol seems to be either a source or energy or some kind of matrix from which those lifeforms emerge. This is supported by the fact we see two clearly different entities around it, one that seems to be taking steps while getting up on its legs and leaving it behind on the left while the one on the right seems to have cables/limbs extended towards the symbol.
In the other pictures, the entities that are a mix of geometric figures and biological elements seem to be the center of interest.
Otherwise from the look, what we could define as the textures remind me of dried coral:
The concept or inspiration for the structures seems biological at times and man-made at others.
Here, in that desertic landscape I see a minaret that has been overtaken by this biological entity:
Here I'm seeing something like the Atomium mixed with the Alexander Calder art piece called Man:
All the spherical "trees" remind me of Riven and all the hours I spent in that game:
Still, that mix of geometric shapes and biological elements in desertic landscapes also reminds me of Theo Jansen's creations:
As to how these live and survive:
