I have been watching a show called Loudermilk, which is great stuff and well worth watching. One thing that gets me though, is when a girl says that she can't take much more of her baby and is taking it to the fire station.
Why the fire station ? What happened to leaving children on church steps ?

I wasn't aware that there was a favoured preference in the matter. Police station, fire station, hospital, church... I would've expected it to depend upon what was available at the time. Perhaps there are different preferences depending upon the country, culture and period of time involved?

It is just that while I can understand leaving babies in hospitals, churches and police stations, fire stations are a new one on me. Still, whomever was blocking the downloading of season 3 Loudermilk, has stopped acting like an arse and now I will be able to find out what happens to the baby.

People in fire stations usually know how to deal with emergencies.

Fire stations are considered "safe places," for abandon teens and children. I guess it's leave the child at the fire station and they will take care of and contact social services to come pick up the child.

I guess it's leave the child at the fire station and they will take care of and contact social services to come pick up the child. Sounds good. And as stammerhead posted, people in fire stations usually know how to deal with emergencies.
Anyway, I have binged on season 3 and Clyde is doing fine so far
