Golden Lion, from Martinique, endured an 8,000-mile round trip only to lose 12-0 to Lille in the French Cup. The team from the tiny Caribbean island were able to play in the competition because sides from a variety of France's overseas territories are allowed to compete in it. Consequently, they headed to Lille hoping to cause an upset against the Ligue 1 giants in the round of 64 tie. But the hosts were comfortable winners, with two players hitting hat-tricks. Canada striker Jonathan David and Edon Zhegrova scored half of Lille's dozen goals, with Yusuf Yazici and Hakon Arnar Haraldsson each scoring two. Tiago Santos and Amine Messoussa also scored in a game where Lille had 37 shots on goal, compared to just one for Golden Lion. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67903643

The visit to France would have been worth it I guess.
