Seems like a missed opportunity that they didn't work together irl on a movie.

You know, Jimmy Kimmel's been in the news lately in conjunction with comments made by New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, which seems to give these interviews an added dimension as Jodie Foster's a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan.
You watching the new series of 'True Detective'?

politicidal1 , petrolino , If I may join that discussion, the concept of that season with Jodie Foster is interesting but I find the way men are written (either gentle & naive or complete idiots/assholes) is a bit uninteresting, especially how far it is pushed early in episode 2.

I'll check back in right here when I'm up to date, mecano04, but I can say I enjoyed the first episode. It set the scene nicely, in a great location, though I'm wary of television series weighing too deep in to soap operatics (that's the nature of the beast).
As a Jodie Foster fan, I thought she was honestly terrific, and funny like she often is. Looking forward to episode 2!

I watched episode 4 of 'True Detective : Night Country' today. Hoping to watch 5 & 6 tomorrow as the final episode is set to air overnight and I have the day off work.
I've really gotten in to this show for the atmosphere, the setting (Iceland sits in for Alaska) and the supernatural elements. The character development works to fill in the story; though evocative of 'The Thing From Another World' (1951), 'The Thing' (1982) and 'The Thing' (2011), those stories focused more on events, whereas here there's plenty of air time to develop some backstory. I assume this backstory will be key to understanding the show's finale and the nature of the curse. Interview with Jodie Foster & Kali Reis
It's a nice blend of police procedural, case study and old-fashioned melodrama, anchored mid-series by a sturdy performance from boxer Kali Reis. The forensic detail of Jodie Foster's meticulous performance as restless probe Chief Liz Danvers is gripping to watch, I'm really delighted to see her back working in the crime genre where I feel she's always excelled.

I got one episode to go now. Seriously, can't wait.
I felt that 'Game Of Thrones' and 'Twin Peaks' collapsed midway in recent times, so this could be my favourite tv show since the days of STARZ launching and canceling crime syndicates 'Boss' and 'Magic City'. Gotta love it.

Based on what I have seen in the commercials, True Detective is a show I would watch if I had the determination and desire to watch any particular show. Right now, the only show I watch is Superman & Lois, and I don't even know if the third and final season has debuted yet or completely wrapped up.

I'm really glad I watched it (I rarely commit to tv). At just 6 episodes, it's manageable, like the mini-series of old.
