Is Pascal even in the movie? It doesn't sound like he is - or it hasn't been determined yet.
I'm down for a Rey movie. Always liked the character.

If it's made anything like they make the show, it'll be a double in the Mando suit and he'll just do the voice and maybe show his face in one scene.

Why? She's a good protagonist with a good story. She came from nothing and became a hero. Pretty classic/inoffensive protagonist stuff. She has an identity crisis when she finds out her lineage; just after she really comes to term with her new life as a leader in the Resistance. She's likeable, funny, and a genuinely good person.

Fair enough, I think she is an utterly bland, Mary Sue with no defined character, character flaws, motivation or goals.

A lot of characters are in these kinds of movies. They're simplistic on purpose. He struggles more than her, I agree, but he ascends pretty quickly too.
As someone who liked her, I remember thinking in the first half of TROS when she Force lightening'd that ship, "Ok, enough is enough. She's too perfect." But they righted that ship in the same movie imo. She lost to Ben twice and struggled with her identity throughout that movie, especially when she finds out she's a Palpatine. So-much-so, she gave up.

Luke is nowhere near a Mary Sue. In ANH he is saved by Obi Wan twice, from the Sandpeople and in Mos Eisley. By R2 on the Death Star from the trash compactor Rescued twice in the assault on the Death Star, by Wedge and Han. Without others, luke would have been dead and he doesn't use the Force until ESB. Rey uses the Jedi Mind Trick in TFA, despite thinking The Force was a myth20 minutes earlier. Wins every fight she is in. Rescues herself from Star Killer Base etc.

Rey doesn't win every fight she's in.She lost both fights to Ren in TROS.

MEh, not really, but even if I accept that Luke actively used the Force, he was doing something on the instruction of a Jedi Master that the same Jedi Master had been trying to teach him earlier in the film. Rey uses the Jedi Mind Trick after Han Solo said the Force was real. How does she know thats a thing? No idea. And she loses a fight to the main antagonist in the third film of the trilogy.....but then she kills him anyway. Her skill set is way more advanced than Lukes in their respective first films.

Not really, LOL?! There's video proof of it. You can't dispute that it happened.
Yes it was. She's more capable than Luke early on. So what? People are different. That's life.

No, not really. Luke is "using" the Force in the same way annkin is before he was trained. Its not an active manipulation of the Force of the environment using the Force, he is simply trusting his instincts, which are amplified by the Force. And her skill set is ridiculous, she is a mechanic, a pilot, speaks at least three languages, adept with computers, crack shot with a blaster and can use advanced Jedi Powers. Despite being an orphan on a backwards planet who scavenges to survive and having never known of the Force or held a blaster before. Compared to Luke....

I'm just not gonna engage with you when you outright lie or dance around the truth. You were wrong and don't have the balls to admit it.

I'm just not gonna engage with you when you outright lie or dance around the truth. You were wrong and don't have the balls to admit it. Oh, you mean you can't back up you claim that Luke is a Mary Sue? I'm not dancing or lying. Listen to the dialogue. Then compare that to what Obi Wan says about The Force on the Falcon. "Let the Force flow through you" and "let go your conscious self and act on instinct" Then at the Death Star he again tells Luke to "let go" Obi Wan also admits that the Force can control ones actions. Vaders line of "The Force is strong with this one" also indicates the same thing, its The Force that is strong in this place, not Luke. That here Luke is a vessel for the Will of The Force, since he himself doesn't have the ability to control or manipulate it. That is how I've always interpreted that scene. Luke then trains to control the Force and bend it to his will, not the other way around. Now you can argue I'm wrong, but don't call me a liar for my perspective.
