My enthusiasm died when I saw the trailer, now we are hearing the director is fired.

Beast isn’t supposed to be that strong. And him controlling that sentinel was ludicrous.

Loved the first 2 episodes. Agreed. A lot is happening already and I got used to the animation style very quickly. I love the portrayals of most of the characters here.

Love Cyclops being a little bit more of a bad-ass... Wolverine still being a little jerk-ish (was afraid that they were gonna change him to be a bit more like the movies) Love the story(ies) and cliff-hanger. I almost wish they just dropped all the episodes so I can just shot-gun it.

Then Magneto in episode 2. All the XMen could get a time to shine but it’s important to show that the leaders of the team aren’t just dishing out orders.

Just finished the first two episodes of #XMen97. It's good, don't get me wrong, but some of the metaphors in #XMen simply don't work (and they make no effort to correct them). Mutants aren't feared simply because they look different, they're feared because they can blow people up (and many don't hesitate to). This isn't a race or sex thing, it's a safety thing. These people are dangerous even when they aren't trying to be. That's not even including the ones who intentionally commit crimes. And constantly forgiving #Magneto (a bigot and mass murderer) makes my blood boil. I just can't with this. The anti-mutant side is a bunch of bigots who never have a valid point, but Magneto, the racist and mass murderer can threaten the U.N. and be given a pardon. This just doesn't work. This is where the movies do it better. I've always found it extremely stupid humans in the Marvel universe fear mutants and not ALL superpowered people. It's the mutants who are the dangerous ones. That makes no sense. I do like the animation. The fight in the junkyard against Trask, Master Mold, and the Sentinals, was fucking awesome! Everyone got to show a little of something and they all looked awesome. Loving Cyclops. Forgot how much of a cock Wolverine can be towards him.
Does anyone know how much of the cast is back?

I liked the first 2 episodes, but then again majority of these Marvel D+ shows have very strong first few episodes (which is how they get such high RT ratings) and then falls off a cliff afterwards.
So I'll keep my fingers crossed but won't really hope for much.

Now that we're a few episodes in, I'm starting to have reservations about this show. It's still decently good and, surprisingly, not at all preachy. It looks like it just generally wants to entertain audiences, which I applaud it for.
The main issue I have is that they seem to lean too much on nostalgia baiting while they sacrifice good writing and story development. There's some good plotlines in here but they rush them and don't take the time to properly develop. Rather, they're depending on the audience to already know the background to what they're showing. They mostly throw a crapload of easter eggs and references, both either from the comics or from the original series, so if you're a fan you'll get excited for it. But if you're not a hardcore fan you'll mostly find yourself lost inside a fairly disjointed show.

But if you're not a hardcore fan you'll mostly find yourself lost inside a fairly disjointed show. They are half hour episodes, there ain't no time for build up. When is the last time you watched Spiderman The Animated Series? A kid on speed with ADHD couldn't keep up with the average episode of that show. And I don't disagree it moves fast, I just don't know what else they can do to prevent that. It's the case in many half hour cartoons.
It's a good show. I like it. The animation and stories are good, so far. Aside from what I said in my other post - which is a fundamental issue I have with X-Men - I do agree they kinda expect the audience to know the backstories.
I thought the Madelyne Pryor stuff was cool, but yeah, she's sane in 5 minutes.
