Now that we're a few episodes in, I'm starting to have reservations about this show. It's still decently good and, surprisingly, not at all preachy. It looks like it just generally wants to entertain audiences, which I applaud it for. The main issue I have is that they seem to lean too much on nostalgia baiting while they sacrifice good writing and story development. There's some good plotlines in here but they rush them and don't take the time to properly develop. Rather, they're depending on the audience to already know the background to what they're showing. They mostly throw a crapload of easter eggs and references, both either from the comics or from the original series, so if you're a fan you'll get excited for it. But if you're not a hardcore fan you'll mostly find yourself lost inside a fairly disjointed show. They are half hour episodes, there ain't no time for build up. When is the last time you watched Spiderman The Animated Series? A kid on speed with ADHD couldn't keep up with the average episode of that show. And I don't disagree it moves fast, I just don't know what else they can do to prevent that. It's the case in many half hour cartoons.
It's a good show. I like it. The animation and stories are good, so far. Aside from what I said in my other post - which is a fundamental issue I have with X-Men - I do agree they kinda expect the audience to know the backstories.
I thought the Madelyne Pryor stuff was cool, but yeah, she's sane in 5 minutes.
It's not just about it moving fast, I expected that from a 30 min cartoon. Rather it's more about them putting something in then just forget about it, completely depending on viewer's knowing what they're referencing. For example, Madelyne Prior's storyline felt rushed but they did the best they could trying to develop it through 30 mins episodes. That's ok, that's what I expected. In comparison, they stuffed a 10 min. "Montendo" episode within a longer episode trying to develop Forge's and Storm's relationship. I'm like, why? Why even bother putting Mojo in there if not just for likes? Speaking of relationships, yeah Forge's and Storm's relationship is rushed but again, I expected that from a 30 min epsidoe. At least they tried to develop it. In comparison, Rogue and Magneto are not a couple with zero context or development. The only reason I'm not surprised is because I remember reading a comicbook about it. But people who've only ever watched the original cartoons would be completely bewildered by the relationship. Besides, there's lots of good shows that had decent storytelling within 30 min episodes or shorter. Young Justice, Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Vox Machina, Castlevania, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, etc. So it's not like it's impossible to develop well fleshed-out storylines within 30 mins.

Somehow I'm not surprised you're fine with a show with a mostly white cast and ignoring the preachiness inherent to X-Men directly because of that

I'm saying that you're fine with preachiness if it's coming from a mostly white cast show.

Are you saying that simply having a mostly white cast is considered being preachy? I'm saying that you're fine with preachiness if it's coming from a mostly white cast show. And what proof do you have to back that up? Or are you simply talking out of your ass like you normally do?

The directors are open to helming the live-action movie if asked by Marvel.

So like I said, looks like you're just talking out of your ass again.

Tell me how that's not preachy without you being a hypocrite.

And what exactly is preachy about that? What, you think having a mob is preachy? Calling your home unflattering names is preachy? Talking about the holocaust is preachy? Dude, you don't seem to know what being preachy means. Maybe don't argue about things you don't understand yeah?
