New species of anaconda discovered in the Amazon rainforest

The species, named Eunectes akayima, or northern green anaconda, was found during filming for National Geographic’s Disney+ series Pole to Pole with Will Smith. While the Waorani people suggested they could measure up to 25 feet in length, the research team was able to measure one female snake at nearly 21 feet.
