Don't ask me why mayhem...it was just a catchy word to punch up "Divisional Round"
Make no mistake, these are excellent matchups insofar as these things can be predicted before kickoff.
Saturday afternoon's AFC match is Indy at KC; Saturday night in the NFC is Dallas at LA Rams. With both of these games, a high-scoring shootout will heavily favor the home team, a low-scoring affair of time of possession and turnovers will favor the visitor.
Sunday afternoon's AFC game is the LA Chargers at New England; later Sunday afternoon is Philly visiting New Orleans for the NFC. Pity the team who has to fly from sunny SoCal to play in Foxborough against the long-in-the-tooth Pats, with more rings than an Italian American strip club owner. The other matchup is defending champs vs. the hypothetical best team in the NFL. Good stuff.

Colts vs. Chiefs - when Adam V. doinks an extra point attempt, it's just not your night.

With both of these games, a high-scoring shootout will heavily favor the home team, a low-scoring affair of time of possession and turnovers will favor the visitor. This analysis did not pan out. Neither the Chiefs nor the Rams needed an aerial shootout to prevail. Kansas City was in Indy's backfield all afternoon, and the Colt's could never really get in rhythm. The Ram's executed a game plan worthy of Bill Parcells in the 80's, dominating the Cowboys at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and posting up 2 x 100+ yard rushers against a top 5 rushing defense while holding Ezekiel Elliot to 47 rush yards. The Rams punted once and never turned the ball over, racking up 36:13 in time of possession.
