Yes. Several times I will even get in my truck and leave my house only to pull a u turn someplace and call in sick.
Eternal Sunshine really turned me on to the idea of just spontaneously taking a day to yourself. It can be quite refreshing.

Most companies allow a certain number of paid sick days for when you are not feeling well enough to go to work.
I've always believed that they should also offer paid well days when you feel too good to come to work.
