Here is a collection of artwork of life forms that never existed on this Earth, but could have developed at some point in the distant past. I suppose that such monsters could evolve in some distant future where human beings are no longer present. Alternatively, our descendants could create beasts via genetic manipulation as a form of art, a la The Island of Doctor Moreau.
The images all appear to be computer generated and it appears that prospective painters no longer require any aptitude in that endeavor. They need only give a program some general instructions and can verbally alter any image produced. Oh well.
