I thought Joaquin was the best Joker since Jack and way better than Heath. But that's just my own personal humble opinion.
it's not about the crazy anarchist character, though.......... it's about how so many see it as the 'hero/symbol' they wanna follow
I kinda prefer the Burton campy version movies..........but that's probably my own nostalgia of having seen the Adam West series as a kid
Oh, I see what you mean now. I think it was more they felt let down and left out by the system, so they looked to him as their way to fight the power, misguided though it may be.

Let down and left out.........but who is really to blame for that? If you want to be included on a sports team........but you never put in the time to practice and get better, is that the coach's fault?
I had a co-worker who was a big Bernie supporter. When I asked them if they were anti-capitalism........they were honest and just said "No. I just suck at it."
It's one thing to 'fight the power'...........but to think beyond 1 step and figure out what happens afterward? who is then in power? They're ignoring the hippies of olde fought the power and many of them are now in power. Has things changed all that much? No more war?

How many women have been left off of a team or not given a promotion or not given an opportunity because they didn't put out for the coach or the boss or just didn't meet all the physical qualifications? As just one example in one scenario?

There are always exceptions to the general rule.........and bad examples, of course.
Sleeping in exchange for play is a quid pro quo extortion kinda thing. Many people engage in it willingly. Reporting it immediately is always an option.
If the very job itself requires a certain kind of physicality, then you should be able to provide said physical skills.
My example was simply an analogy for capitalism. Far too many Americans do not understand it at all, much less engage it to their benefit. They've also been groomed and bought into this divisive political speak waging war against the Haves, simply because there are many times more Have Nots. (As will always be the case)

I should have said physical appearance qualifications, or expectations, rather. Ultimately we were and I was talking about a movie reference, and whatever reason they were let down or left out could be any number of things that we don't know or see, whether their fault or not. There's no one size that fits all. It doesn't mean they were justified in what they were doing in the movie.

I think we can all agree/acknowledge that winning the genetic lottery certainly can make one's life easier........provided you play those cards correctly.
As the population grows and grows, it always makes me scratch my head that more and more of them expect to be 'the winner'? Where does this notion come from? Collectivist grooming? Equity talks? You may as well wish into the mirror on the wall to be the fairest of them all.
Correct. A wonderful thing about capitalism.......it works in a myriad of different ways. All you have to do is find your niche. A product or a service or simply a better method......and voila! Success. At least a degree of success (compared to the masses)
That train of thought reminds me of a question I've asked about criminals in general. When we invent or reason up an excuse for any and all behavior, then isn't it all explainable and excusable?

Not necessarily, and not all reasons or excuses are invented or reasoned up. There are legitimate and explainable reasons for behavior, but it doesn't mean that the behavior is necessarily justified or excusable.

yes
I'd guess China hacks and plays online, as well.
This is why Russia is a valuable target, all of those resources. China resource is all those ready hands to engage in cheap labor.

Are you serious? It's not even close. At least China is a lighter dictatorship. And they try to improve their own country and international relations. In Russia they have absolutely no problem to poison, to kill and murder anyone who tries to oppose them. They're not a "light dictatorship". They're brutal. China executes more people than any other country in the world. www.statista.com/statistics/267304/number-of-executions-worldwide/I'm pretty sure they're not all axe murderers, I bet a significant portion of those dead people are political dissidents. You don't hear as much shit about China in western media because we're so dependent on cheap manufactured goods to keep our consumer driven economies afloat. Ill have some Chinese food and some Uyghur blood on the side, to go please Im sure among the dead there would also be Falun Gong/Dafa supporters. Or at least incarcerated

I've always chuckled at that stat pointing out how the US locks up more than most.
It's funny because others just shoot them dead.

Generally the Chinese government. Russia wants to supplant us on a global scale. China just wants to dominate Asia and sell everyone else their crap. That's not true at all. China's blue water navy only has one possible aim, global projection of military power. Russia can want all day long, they can't supplant the US, their economy is too small and thus they'll never have the money to challenge the US globally with their military. The only reason they're able to challenge us in eastern Europe and parts of Asia is living off old Soviet era stockpiles. That's all you need though. I think there are also the subs. I think they have carried out tests not too long ago with all things nuclear or the potential of that kind of payload anyway? Who knows what kind of underground secret experiments that they are running as well
