Mine doesn't. I find my current workspace to be reasonably friendly, generally speaking. There's heated debate at times, on all manner of subjects (I'm useless at small talk), but usually people are polite and understanding. And people drink coffee together (or an alternate beverage).
Not encountered any rude, angry or aggressive keyboard warriors as of yet, when working on e-mail or using messaging services. Online stalking isn't permitted. Based on my own training and social interaction, I think there's low tolerance for that kind of thing with all the different companies, contractors and sub-contractors that are involved. Some people I work with say they aren't fans of social media for this reason.

My workplace is very friendly and well-mannered. Don't you work from home ?
I was self employed for most of my working life and always found myself to be the most courteous and easy going of work mates. A few folk disagreed, but who gave a fuck what they thought ?

I go to the office usually 4 days per week. I'm one of the regulars as it's not far.

My immediate supervisor is a total dick, he is an expert at making it look like you made a mistake.
He used to drive me crazy but I realized he confronts people before doing his homework, so when questioned by him you can just say "Did you read my notes?"
The notes may answer his questions, the notes may not exist at all, but he wouldn't know because he didn't bother. After that happened a few times he stopped bothering me about "mistakes".

I’ve worked in some very toxic environments before. And if there is a HR department, their main job is to protect the interests of the leadership and veterans. Apparently it’s quite common. HR rarely works by some code of ethics as much as it is there simply to protect the status quo.
There are some nasty people out there. Some folks think everyone is out for their job and will look for reasons to discredit others. Sometimes they’ll even concoct complaints out of thin air. Others are just on power trips and like to test people.
If you work somewhere nice , you’re lucky. But don’t assume that it is the standard. Unfortunately, it isn’t.

Not intentionally but with the always increasing amounts of micromanagement it feels like it.

I would say the problem is that it doesn't discourage obnoxious/problematic behaviour.

I've had good jobs, bad jobs, hard jobs, relatively easy jobs. Always low paid as I'm an unskilled worker with little in the way of qualifications. I was just curious if people here worked jobs where they were formally instructed, or encouraged, to be openly hostile, as none of mine would fit that description.
I do my best to avoid HR departments which some see as the devil. I ignore the cronyism, nepotism, favouritism and all that jazz. Just looking to fulfil my obligations for the day and go home, taking each day as it comes, one day at a time; hopefully finishing each day with enough money in my pocket to eat and sleep in relative comfort and safety/.
