I get a lot of scam calls, but this one was different: Mechanical female voice: "Hello, am I speaking to Mr Tickingmask?" Me: "Yes, what can I do for you?" MFV: "Hi, my name is Chrissy, I am conducting a survey on households in your area to see if you qualify for a free inspection and discount on a solar panel installation that could cut your energy bills by up to 70% and I would like to ask you..." Me: "Hang on a minute, who are you calling behalf of?" MFV: "This is a UK solar energy survey which I am conducting on households in your area to see if you qualify for a free inspection and discount..." Me: "Whoa, stop there! You didn't answer my question. What is the name of your company, to wit, the company on whose behalf you are having a phone conversation with me at this present time?" MFV: "I'm sorry, but I am not professionally qualified to answer this question." Me: "????!!!?"
Probably a scam, but it's also clear that 'Chrissy' isn't a real human being. Anybody else experienced this? I used to have fun leaving human scammers dangling on the line while pretending to search for my bank details and/or credit card and then winding them up by reading out fake numbers to them, but where's the fun if the person on the other end of the line isn't even human?

I can't remember the name but I had one of those calls and hung up when it became obvious that my replies didn't seem to connect with whoever/whatever was on the other end of the line.
