I love the first two movies (the second one a bit more so), though I haven't really bothered with the movies that came out afterwards (I heard a lot of them weren't very good). Am I missing out on anything?

Agreed. Hellraiser 2 is the best one.

The third one wasn't completely terrible...but it was by no means good. After that they were all straight to video trash.
The one in space was just silly.

The first is the most coherent.

The first is the most coherent. Yeah they spent the rest of the series trying to explain the mythology and it just made things worse.

Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth Hellraiser- Bloodline Nothing amazing. But watchable But everything else afterwards is complete drek and I'm sure some of them are just repurposed horror films with the hell raiser name slapped on for sales.

I love the CD cenobite in the 3rd movie..... Nothing screams "80s" as loud.

Agreed. Hellraiser 2 is the best one. Yes the battle between The Cenobites vs Dr. Channard was what made the film for me.

Let's face it, the best thing about 3 is Terry Farrell

Do people even look at the movie boards here? Jesus. No effort at all.

Don’t like the first very much. Was looking forward to it, yet Nightmare 3 from the same year I found so much more enjoyable. Hellraiser 2 and 3 are more entertaining than the first. Saw up to 5 and then gave up. The recent reboot was overlong and forgettable.

They all stunk to high heaven. Clive Barker is just a weird dude.

Am I missing out on anything? The third one is really good IMO. It started to fall apart with the 4th movie, which is at least interesting with the backstory of Pinhead.

I watched the third one again last year and taken on its own terms it’s a taut little horror film. Of course, following two horror classics is tough.
