Hey yall. Im going to start watching the Bond films again now that I have all of em on Blu Ray. I remember throughout my youth this was a series I always avoided and I dont know why. Guess they just were not appealing to me. Around 2007 when I was still in high school I started to check out a few of the films and eventually got hooked and loved the series ever since. I just wish I watched them in order then. I watched them whenever I got my hands on a VHS or DVD and watched em all out of order which was a bad idea on my part.
Seeing these films many times over now I really must say its the one series where I love most of the films. Most o the Bond films I give a 8, 9 or 10 to. The only two exception are the last two on my list which are the only two I do not care for.
I have given this much thought to make this list but here is my list of Bond films favorite to least. Im just counting the ones from the official series. Put your own list as well.
1. Licence to Kill 2. The World Is Not Enough 3. Casino Royale 4. For Your Eyes Only 5. On Her Majestys Secret Service 6. A View to a Kill 7. From Russia With Love 8. Goldfinger 9. Live and Let Die 10. Die Another Day 11. The Living Daylights 12. GoldenEye 13. Dr. No 14. Tomorrow Never Dies 15. The Spy Who Loved Me 16. Moonraker 17. Spectre 18. Octopussy 19. Skyfall 20. You Only Live Twice 21. Thunderball 22. No Time to Die 23. The Man With the Golden Gun 24. Diamonds Are Forever 25. Quantum of Solace

I just recently bought a Bond blu-ray boxset that has all of them except No Time to Die. I'm currently reading the books for the first time and after I finish those I was going to do another big marathon and watch them all in order (even though I just did that back in July).
I actually also watched them out of order, but I'm kind of glad. I do wish I knew what order I watched them in, but watching them in random order over the course of a few years when I was a kid helped me to appreciate all the eras of Bond. A lot of people will say that whoever was Bond when they were growing up is their Bond, but I grew up with all of them, so in a way I feel kind of lucky.
Here's my current rankings, but it could change after my next marathon:
01. Casino Royale - 9/10 02. Goldfinger 03. Thunderball 04. From Russia with Love 05. Dr. No - 8.5/10 06. GoldenEye 07. Skyfall 08. Licence to Kill - 8/10 09. The Spy Who Loved Me 10. For Your Eyes Only 11. You Only Live Twice 12. The Living Daylights 13. Tomorrow Never Dies 14. On Her Majesty's Secret Service - 7.5/10 15. The Man with the Golden Gun 16. Live and Let Die 17. Octopussy 18. A View to a Kill 19. The World Is Not Enough 20. No Time to Die 21. Diamonds Are Forever 22. Quantum of Solace 23. Moonraker 24. Spectre 25. Die Another Day - 6.5/10

I was pretty late to the party on these and have seen through all of them once so far. I also didn't really find them appealing at first, but I ended up rather enjoying them and look forward to watching them again sometime. I even got a collection set of 5 of the original novels and finished two so far. My order is likely to change around numerous times.
GoldenEye Casino Royale Licence to Kill Skyfall Goldfinger From Russia with Love On Her Majesty's Secret Service No Time to Die The Spy Who Loved Me A View to a Kill Live and Let Die The World Is Not Enough Tomorrow Never Dies The Man with the Golden Gun You Only Live Twice Octopussy The Living Daylights Dr. No Spectre Thunderball For Your Eyes Only Quantum of Solace Die Another Day Diamonds Are Forever Moonraker

Why do you have to do another Bond ranking just go back to the ones you did before. Have never understood that constant repetition.

I think I posted mine not too long ago. It will be something like this:
1. THE SPY WHO LOVED ME 10/10, always the ultimate 007 and always number one.
2. For Your Eyes Only 9/10 3. Goldfinger 9/10 4. Thunderball 9/10
5. Octopussy 8/10 6. You Only Live Twice 8/10 7. Moonraker 8/10 8. Die Another Day 8/10 9. Live and Let Die 8/10 It aged well. At the time, the red neck sheriff was a cliche, but over thime that passed. 10. Dr. No 8/10
11. The Living Daylights 7/10 12. The Man With the Golden Gun 7/10 same as with Live and Let Die 13. From Russia With Love 7/10
14. License to Kill 6/10
15. Diamonds are Forever 5/10 The Henchmen raise it a few notches 16. Tomorrow Never Dies 5/10
17. Goldeneye 4/10
18. Casino Royale 1967 3/10, the usual rating for not memorable and puts you to sleep 19. Quantum of Solace 3/10 20. Spectre 3/10
21. No Time to Die 2/10 the only thing salvaging this is the fresh idea of 007 saving a little girl in distress instead of damsel in distress, so it gets a notch for innovation. 22. On Her Majesty's Secret Service 2/10
23. Skyfall 1/10 24. Never Say Never Again 1/10 25. The World is Not Enough 1/10 26. Casino Royale 2006 1/10 27. A View to a Kill 1/10 Not only the stupidest movie, worst movie, and a plot that never developed, but it also had the stupidest title ever and the worst theme song ever. The undeniable choice for worst Bond movie ever.

My brother bought all 12 of Ian Fleming's Bond novels years ago and I borrowed them from him a few months back. I'm reading Thunderball right now (#8).

Bit weird they didn't just do the actual first 5 novels since Moonraker and Diamonds are missing.

But I put it last because they didn't do much with the space concept and the mistreatment of Jaws.

Maybe have them go into space by the halfway point instead of act three. And have some more space battles or something.

What else could they do with the space concept? Maybe have them go into space by the halfway point instead of act three. And have some more space battles or something. That would have been overkill for most viewers. The space battle of "Moonraker", no matter what one thinks of the movie, remains the best directed and filmed space battle ever on film. Most directors rely on stupid special effects and CGI which is just full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. The same for the superb underwater battle scene of THUNDERBALL, which remains to this day the most exciting underwater battle scene ever on film. Heck, it's the most exciting underwater scene ever on film. Not one lull. And still the champion to this day, for the same reason MOONRAKER's space battle is champion of space battles. The director didn't let special effects interfere with the "theater".
