Yeah, my neighborhood is nearly all black people, but I do have friends here, mostly among the few white folk, but of others races too. Still, I don't walk in the 'hood other than in about a 1 to 2 1/2 square block radius of my home. Also, I never carry a cell phone, my bank cards etc, and more than a R100 or so with me if I'm on foot in that radius. But I feel secure in my apartment, and the places where I go shopping are lovely. Hell, the mall even has a cannabis stall, and a tobacconist which sells weed and edibles Fact is, I don't even have to go as far as the mall to buy weed, because there is an excellent cannabis store called The Green Leaf about 2ks up the road. Smoking cannabis in your home or growing it in your garden is legal, or using it for medicinal purposes, but selling it isn't, but that hasn't stopped people finding ways to navigate through and around the gray areas in the law. It's going to be intriguing to see what happens to all these amazing Mom and Pop weed stores and to CannaAfrica (whose stalls are the only ones which are fully legal - in the government and medical boards eyes'; not that they don't play hard and fast with the law too, and on the stock exchange) when cannabis is finally fully legal for recreational purposes in this country. Even the legal stores are not allowed to advertise, though, but word of mouth gets around.
