mikef6 , It's not deliberate at all. I have no idea why that is happening. Maybe try contacting Proboards support? Sorry, I have no clue how to fix it.

I noticed something strange in the Brokeback Mountain thread. it looked like you didn’t write anything but upon investigation I noticed that there was invisible text that showed up in a reply.

Good spot! mikef6 , check out your post here: imdb1.freeforums.net/post/865763and look very closely below the quote box and you will see your comment. If you double-click just below the quoted text, you'll clearly see your text. It looks like a font colour is automatically being applied to your comments. Maybe look in your profile settings to see if there is a default text colour setting?

mikef6, Under 'Edit Profile', select the 'Settings' tab and look for this:
Set your default colour to 000000

Set your default colour to 000000 Worked like the proverbial charm, as you can see by this. You know, I think I inflicted this on myself. I was messing around in settings just to see what some of them did. I bet I altered that color code. Thanks so much.

Thanks Stammerhead for pointing that out, your observation was crucial to this!
