Worst fanbase?

There isn’t a fan base quite like Indian cricket fans.

Sore losers and exceedingly fickle.

But the worst is that they are insufferable winners, and despite having untold financial resources and a population base that by far exceeds any of their rivals by many magnitudes, they always try to claim the underdog status, usually with a massive persecution and inferiority complex.

For example, many of their fans will carry on like peacocks when they manage a victory over New Zealand, an entire country smaller than several of their major cities, and a nation where cricket is definitely not the primary national sport like cricket is in India.

For some reason, they still think it’s the 1960’s and 70’s when India was decidedly a third world, underdeveloped country with no financial or political clout in the cricket world. Now, it’s the undisputed world leader financially and politically in cricket, and by a wide margin.

It seems to be quiet now but I remember Tom Brady having some obnoxious fans at the peak of his popularity.

Obnoxious ones for me are the ones that tell you all about it when they're contending but are nowhere to be seen when the team is even average. Richmond, Hawthorn, the Roosters all have these types of fans but Roosters fans took it to new levels last year. So many Chooks telling me how bad the team was last year and acting all year like they were enduring something absolutely dreadful. They made finals, won a final and could easily have got to the prelim. Wow, what a "bad" year. Wankers.
