We recently looked back on "Major League II" turning 30, now it's time to look back on the original "Major League" as it turns 35. Still an entertaining baseball comedy, despite it being formulaic and predictable, largely due to the characters (and their performers) and Bob Uecker commentary during the baseball scenes. There are also funny jokes/scenes that also make it memorable. I'm surprised we haven't had the inevitable remake/reboot yet. The movie has even become beloved for the MLB in general and not just for the Cleveland Guardians (formerly Indians) team. The movie recently made its debut on the 4K format.
Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: Major League (1989) - 2.5 out of 4 stars "Bitchy baseball team owner Whitton seeks to get out of her Cleveland franchise by organizing a team that's guaranteed to lose games--and fans. Pleasant but completely unremarkable baseball comedy, with no surprises whatsoever. Followed by two sequels."

I really enjoyed it. Far better than I anticipated.
