Bilbao’s in the Basque country. It used to be that you had to be born in the region to play for the team. I’m afraid I’ve never been to Mallorca. I was in neighbouring island Menorca on holiday once though … but that was back in the 1970s! |

I really liked Barcelona. So this is a smaller league than the one Real Madrid plays in? And you’re most welcome. My pleasure! |

However this wasn’t a league match, but the final match of the Cup, a knockout competition featuring all the teams in Spain from many different tiers of the league. Real Madrid look certain to win the league this season. |

Technically its not their first trophy in 40 years, as Athletic Bilbao won the Supercopa de España in 2015 and 2021. But that is a minor trophy.
But yes its the first big trophy in 40 years.
