What happened to the bookstore? What did I name it? It’s been a minute. 😬 That’s my way of refusing to admit I forgot something. 😅 I've added books to my computer store but no real book shop yet. That's in my 3 year plan. I'll be sure to keep you and everyone else posted haha What’s the thread where you asked for name suggestions. Link me!! I won it. 😁 Remember?

And I never actually see you bring up artcles on the Top 10 worse States/Areas. It's usually Baltimore/VA/DC. I know that's because you live near by. To others that don't know that it looks like you are cherry picking the black districts, areas and not bringing up the top 10 worst States for education (Which tend to be majority white or mostly white Arizona, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, Alabama, South Carolina, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee according to world pop review/wallethub as of 2023) I am pretty sure all states are majority white other than Hawaii. I was using majority and mostly wrong. There are states where most are white but that % isn't over 50% so not a majority. Like Nevada being 45.7% White in 2020 the other 54.3% was Hispanic (30.3) , Black (9.8), Native (9.5), Other (4.7)... I thought it was more but it's Below 50% white Hawaii California New Mexico Texas District of Columbia Nevada Maryland Georgia at 50.1% Florida at 51.5%

do those stats really MEAN anything tho?
i mean SURE florida and virginia are doing well but if well means an AP english class means discussing our feelings and telling each other why the renaissance was a hoax because of a lack of equity - then what's THAT worth?

The better metric would be standardized academic test scores for each state for grades K-12 (or key grades when they give those tests.) I think you should search them up and post them.

my kids are straight A students and that's great.
- no homework
- no reports
- feel good projects
- no challenging reading assignments
- no working at a restaurant 20-30 hours a week
- open book tests
i mean how could they NOT get A's?

anytime i want to discuss the educational system in america some asshat will post a reply and imply it is purely for racist reasons and PaulsLaugh will hop in and give that a like?
well fuck you guys.
YOU PEOPLE are the reason our educational system is a complete clusterfuck.
you guys and gals have neither the balls, the backbone, or the intelligence to understand the long term ramifications of the continued failings of our public school system.
crying racism and lowering standards is not going to do shit for anyone.
you cowards.
Paul has never had nor wanted children and is therefore not entitled to have an opinion.
When parents are happy with the education system then the education system is usually shit
You are absolutely right. I’m not entitled to an opinion, I have right to my opinion along with the right to express it without fear of retaliation. I learned this in civics class in school, another subject they don’t teach anymore. The problem with American education is not too much diversity.

that's the left on every issue clown car of tribalists and trolls play the racist card, attack the source for literally no reason (when it's an easily verifiable story), deflect to trump, nonstop personal attacks without attempting to make any point. that's their bag.
and i will be honest and say the right does that as well on many issues but this is education we're talking about.
dumbing down shit to not hurt people's feelings is ridiculous.
holding back the advance kids in the name of equity is even worse.
the education of our kids should not be some crazy partisan issue.
Maybe it wouldn’t be crazy partisan now, if the US public education didn’t already have a long history of crazy racism. You are the first person responsible for your children’s education. If your local schools are not doing the job to your satisfaction, home school them.

Uh, oh. Seeing the angry bear again when I click on this site. He has a point though - the education system is shit. But that’s not because black children are too “sensitive” to be educated with white and brown children. At least that was what I was told back when schools were segregated. Anyway, Bear keeps forgetting all US schools are under local politics. You can an excellent school in one zip code and a rotten one in the next. Also Harvard, Yale, etc are private universities that can admit whom they please. If he thinks he’s frustrated with state of US education, I get tired of explaining how the democratic system works to Right Wingers.

you should start like my favorite used book store in NC. The Book Rack. They are pretty big. All books that's not behind the register are $5 for Hardcover individual books. $2.5 soft cover books. Each set of books say like English Lit from Shakespeare to Present a 10 volume set is priced as a set but not 10 x 5.00. That would probably go for 20 bucks. Ok Trade in value. You can submit HC or SC and get 1.25 in store credit for SC and 2.50 for store credit in HC. They don't really deal with pricier collectable books. I mean they randomly will have a hand full but that's not the point of the store. So I got a first edition HC Stephen King + Peter Straub The Talisman in good nick. I know they can get 20 bux + shipping online for it. Or if you go to another book shop at least 10 bux. They don't care. It's 5 dollars. That's How I have a lot of first edition SK. They called me up and said one of your BOLO we jut got in. Roadwork 2nd edition by Richard Bachman (SK) just came in. I said how much they said its a SC so 2.50. I said does it have Stephen King or Richard Bachman as author they said Bachman. I said published 1981 or 1983. They Said 83. Did it have White and Black roadwork slashes around Roadwork name? They said no., I said that's a 2nd edition. They said they knew that. I said depending on condition that book is worth 200-450 dollars. They said it's 2.50 here. I drove up the next day. I got an autographed version of The Girl who loved Tom Gordon HC for 5 dollars. Road Work is in a safety deposit box. The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon is in a acryllic cube in the library. They don't care. Like I said there is a handful exceptions in a glass box but thats about it. Then they have their Rentals behind the Register. Every time a new book they think might rent comes out they will buy a small amount. People have lists of books they want to rent when they come out. For 1 dollar a week you can rent the book. If you damage it you have to pay the difference between what they rented it out vs list price. Then once the book as slowed down they move most of the rented books over to normal section and sell it for 2.50 or 5.00

And no The Book Rack isn't the bookstore I broke my ankle at. That would be 2nd and Charles on South Blvd. in Charlotte. Yes the fearless and ever agile Vassaggo did indeed break his ankle walking to the door from the Register in a Used Book, CD, Album, Comic, Video Game Chain Store. After buying a Library Edtion of Angel Season 11 vol 2. Sega Genesis Pga Tour 2 and an Magnovox Odyssey 2 version of Frogger.
You should be like 2nd and Charles if you don't want to do the set price style...
Its basically a Used Book Store, Used Vinyl Store, Used DVD/BLURay/CD Store, Used Comics, Used/New Pops, Board Game, Video GAme store an ran as if it dealt in New Stuff. Everything is individually Priced. And there is a big ass section for appraisals. You would just have another section Vintage and New Computers, parts, builds, games, and repair.
