More than 250 survivors of the Manchester Arena bomb are taking legal action against MI5, lawyers representing them have confirmed. Twenty-two people died and hundreds more were injured in the blast in May 2017. Legal teams representing many survivors injured in the explosion said they have submitted a group claim to the Investigatory Powers Tribunal (IPT). MI5 said it would not comment on ongoing legal proceedings. In March 2023, the director-general of MI5 Ken McCallum said he was "profoundly sorry" the security service did not prevent the Manchester Arena attack. His comments followed the findings of a public inquiry which concluded MI5 missed a significant chance to take action that might have stopped the bombing. …. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-68811600They should sue the arena too … the security guards there were a fucking joke.

An Ariana Grande concert was the last place anyone would think a terrorist attack would take place.

The attack was in 2017.
Has it taken the victims 7 years to discover that they were hurt ?

The inquiry into the bombing only released its findings 13 months ago. Place the blame for the delay on that and not the victims please.

Why doesn't the BBC just cut to the chase and say "sue the taxpayers"? They are the ones who are going to have to pay the final bill in the end. Plus all those lovely lawyers' fees, of course - I've no doubt that the partners at Hudgell Solicitors, Slater & Gordon and Broudie Jackson Canter will be looking forward to bumper bonus payments for the next few years to come.
