A couple bullet points, neither of which liberals will be able to address:
-There is no underlying crime that would elevate the misdemeanor to a felony.
-Defendants are not compelled to appear at their trials, apart from verdict and sentencing. The judge is engaging in election interference by compelling Trump to be present every day.

If any of my clients do not to show up on the day of their trial, a warrant would be issued for their arrest.

If I was Trump I would go ahead and be at my son's graduation and dare them to arrest me. There comes a time you gotta say enough of this horseshit. ENOUGH.

Are you saying Dershowitz lied, and a defendant cannot waive being at their trial? I actually practice law. I can waive my client’s presence for circumstances like pre-trials. But definitely not with trials. So, he’s either lying or something is wrong with him.

A defendant who was initially present at trial, or who had pleaded guilty or nolo contendere, waives the right to be present under the following circumstances: (A) when the defendant is voluntarily absent after the trial has begun, regardless of whether the court informed the defendant of an obligation to remain during trial;

At the beginning, they need to be there. In practice they are required to be there by the Judge. Rarely judges allow them to not go. Look, I am on the record saying I believe this is a weak case. But Dershowitz is pushing the limit here.

Granted, the judge has NOT said trump can't go. That's just more maga horseshit. Ironic that we're arguing about barron's graduation, considering... but still horseshit. The judge has said he WILL decide.
