I went to the HOF and asked why are the Hip Hop/Rap artists eligible. The person asked me, fairly, if I liked Hip Hop and I said no. Got a smug look but then used my "Wayne Gretzky in the Baseball HOF" analogy. The HOF bigshot told me that the HOF is dedicated to honoring all current music, even genres that are not traditional rock. I then said "Okay, so Leonard Bernstein is in. Luciano Pavarotti? Van Cliburn? Yo-Yo Ma? They are modern biggies and you can't deny classical music's influence on Rock. Just ask Queen, Pink Floyd, Yes, The Moody Blues." Got a bunch of horseshit afterwards.
One further point, if there was ever a Hip Hop/Rap HOF, do you think the Beatles would be in?

It’s nice seeing Alexis Korner there even though I’m not sure why. His band CCS produced some good stuff back in the day though.
