Well this was shitty news. Died of a heart attack in the Philippines, which is way too similar to Shane Warne. And he was doing charity work there too. Bugger. Off the field he was a highlight on the Footy Show in the mid-late 90s, happy to send up his speech impediment with Sheesty Sheeks to one (66:1) odds. And just seemed to be a very well liked guy. On the field he was fun to watch too, a some-time five eighth who flourished a centre, scoring 89 tries in 246 first grade games (which actually surprised me, I thought he would have scored in the 110s if not 120s), including 61 tries in 126 games for the great Manly team of the mid 90s and played in their 1996 premiership. He was the ARL's (now NRL) leading try scorer in the 1997 season. He represented New South Wales in 14 games across 6 state of Origin series and pulled on the Australian guernsey 9 times as well. A great character of a game I love when I was growing up and , by most accounts, just a terrific bloke, I must confess to tearing up a bit when I got the news. He'll be missed.
This is the last game I saw Terry play live at Leichardt Oval in 2002. Scored the sealer too!
And here he is on the Footy Show
Some fun memories there. RIP Tezza.

Wow hoskotafe3 I think I went to that game too ! RIP Tezza, Wests Tiger #4. I was cheering for the Tigers but actually went there with Parra fans convinced that this was their year after the near miss in 2001. There was an Italian wedding at the function centre next door which met it took forever to get out after the game. It was a very quiet trip home, but I was happy.
