Services should establish a separate pathway for pre-pubertal children and their families. ensuring that they are prioritised for early discussion about how parents can best support their child in a balanced and non-judgemental way. When families/carers are making decisions about social transition of pre-pubertal children, services should ensure that they can be seen as early as possible by a clinical professional with relevant experience.

Thats kinda meaningless. Should people with ADHD not be treated because acknowledging that ADHD is a mental illness is judgmental? No other form of delusion or dissonance is every treated by affirming it. The simple fact is that no matter how people wish to dress this up, if a person is female, then they are female. There is no such thing as a "Gender Soul" that can inhabit the wrong body. Almost every young person referred to GIDS, was either autistic, had some other, untreated mental disorder or was the victim of abuse. The "Trans" movement has proven to be one of the biggest medical scandals in history. |

Just playing devils advocate here I so rarely dip my toe into this conversation but your comment triggered a thought that I would like to explore. Didn't we do that with non-typical sexual orientation. It was considered evil, a pervasion and finally a mental illness to be treated for what centuries. Hell it was even in the DSM. So Clinically it was defined as a mental illness. It only was removed or thought not to be a Mental Illness by affirming it. By accepting it as a divergent from typical sexual orientation but not a perversion of sexual orientation. We've taken the judgement out and accepted them as fully functional but again divergent. |
