This woman has a fine straight-faced face.

It's substitute babies to fill women's need to mother and nurture.

It's substitute babies to fill women's need to mother and nurture. I know parents who treat their pets like their children, even better in fact. When our dog died, my mother cried like she lost her child. I wouldn't describe people as callous just because they're parents.

I'm just describing the psychological motivation.

What's the psychological motivation for parents who have pets? And what's the psychological motivation of people who don't have either children or pets? Maybe some people just love animals. I wouldn't trust anyone who didn't.

I have no idea what their motivation is. Maybe the same mothering need. Maybe it's never satisfied?

Why does she have carpets when she has dogs ?
As soon as the children arrived and started peeing and pooing everywhere, we installed wooden flooring. Easy to clean and the kids' by products brought the wood work up a treat

I have no idea what their motivation is. Maybe the same mothering need. Maybe it's never satisfied? There are fathers who love their dogs too They have high estrogen levels. I'm joking. Men feel a need to nurture too, but notice this is more common among older women and male dog owners typically don't act the same way.

Our dog ate the carpet on the stairs and as soon as he stopped doing that the cats used it as a scratchpad.

IMO, dog lovers are dog lovers regardless of lifestyle situation. Men who are dog lovers and love their dogs absolutely act the same way. I remember driving past the local pet cemetery and seeing a man there sadly looking at his dog's plaque. I was in the vet office once and saw a man bringing his elderly dog in to be put down cuz it was old and sick. He was inconsolable. Another time, I saw a man's Bassett hound get hit by a car. He screamed and knelt over that dog crying. It is ridiculous though to compare pets to children or vice versa. Children aren't pets and pets aren't children, but both can be cherished and loved. One is not a replacement for the other, because most people have both.

I guess because I think it's stronger in women?

Yes, I don't agree that it's stronger in women. I believe that men love their pets just as much as women do, because I've witnessed it. You've witnessed a man love his pets, but usually when you see people with pets they treat like children it's women. So it's usually a female thing. No big deal, right? I mean there is nothing wrong with that. Don't be a liberal.
