I don't always watch the videos that you post but this one is well worth the time - not only for what it says about the trans issue, which isn't very much, but mostly for how it describes the process of American issues spreading to the rest of the world. She nails it!

I haven’t watched it but is transgenderism a western phenomenon? Are not the hijras in India transgenders? Does the video address such things as this?

The explosion of the number of cases of alleged gender dysphoria in the past twenty years is most definitely a western phenomenon. There is no mention of Indian transgenders. The video is not really about transgenderism in the world, it is about how the numbers ballooned recently, starting in the USA and spreading to most of the western world (especially English-speaking countries) because of American cultural influence.

I did some googling and about 22% of gen Z are LGBT. But only 2% of gen Z are trans according to an article from last year. It’s still double that of millennials and quadruple that of gen x. So their numbers are still small. But they’re loud. My pal says it’s because they’re largely unemployed/ underemployed and are overrepresented on social media because they have time on their hands.
