It's easy to overlook the Oaks when everyone looks at the Derby, but in the past five years or so, I notice that the Oaks is getting more "love".
So, a rundown of Friday's Oaks:
Friday 5-3-2024 A.D. Churchill Downs Race 11. Grade 1 1 1/8 mile Oaks for 3 year old fillies.

6. LEMON MUFFIN 30-1 Wayne Lukas: 1 win and 4 seconds in 7 starts. Ran poorly in a Grade 2, but won a grade 3 before that, both efforts at Oaklawn in Arkansas.
7. FIONA'S MAGIC 30-1 Michael Yates: Dismal performance last time, but before that won a grade 2 at Gulfstream and 2nd in a grade 3. Looks to be on the lead.
8. TARIFA 3-1 Brad Cox: 4 wins in 5 starts. Comes off two grade 2 stakes wins in Louisiana.
9.. EVERLAND 20-1 Eric Foster: 3 wins in 7 starts. A rare sort who broke maiden in a maiden claimer, and untried in graded stakes. Won a minor stakes at Turfway in her last start.
10. INTO CHAMPAGNE 20-1 Ian Wilkes: Recently 3rd and 2nd in grade two stakes. 2 wins in 4 lifetime starts.
11. WAYS AND MEANS 6-1 Chad Brown: 2nd in the Gulfstream Park Oaks, and 2nd in Grade 1 at Saratoga at age 2.
12. POWER SQUEEZE 15-1 Jorge Delgado: Winner of the Gulfstream Park Oaks. Has 4 wins in 6 starts.
13. JUST FYI 9-2 Bill Mott: 2nd in the major prep, the Grade 1 Ashland, and won the Breeder Cup for fillies at age two.
14. LESLIE'S ROSE 7-2 Todd Pletcher: 3 wins in 4 stars, most recently won the Grade 1 Ashland at Keeneland.
15. OUR PRETTY WOMAN AE Steve Asmussen: Led most of the way in the Fairgrounds Oaks and held on for a close 2nd.
16. CANDIED AE Todd Pletcher: 4th in the Grade 1 Ashland, 3rd in the two year Breeder's cup grade 1 for fillies.
