The government controls us, then religion tries to control us more. That's more than enough stress. Oh, and BTW, your use of the word 'peeps' - it's an unintelligent word. It diminishes your point.
I see Govt as the far bigger threat. I do not need any religious organization in my life. And I was merely pointing out all the crap foisted upon the impressionable youth that leads them to claim they face more stress than anyone else ever has.
heheheh I was gonna write 'types' ..........but I figured I'd go with the more hepp word for merh instead. She's such a fan of religious peeps, as it is.
Religion is much more meaningful to many than government Do you not notice how religious leaders manipulate their flock? Hell, the whole sheep thing(sheep are stupid). Fish as well aren't known for their brains. There may be that one big fish that doesn't get caught, but overall, it's not that hard to catch them.

Paul who was writing all those letters that became books in the Bible was worried about church property...sure. Or maybe you could read the Bible yourself.
There's what the disciples wrote............what was translated correctly...........and what the later versions decided was to be included, much less endorsed by the Church itself. Bot to mention the many, many sects.
Why would I bother? I've got you My overall opinion of the Bible is it's a bit like a buffet. You can find some decent bits that are worth putting on your plate, but there's also plenty that you can just choose to ignore.

How many people have you ever met that you felt were very consistent with their religious beliefs?
Manipulate? or serve up what people wanna eat? Do you truly believe people in general are all that much smarter a species?
You almost made me spit out my soda with that last bit.........it reminded me of catfishing

Years ago, I told my veterinarian that I would love to raise sheep, for the wool. He rolled his eyes and said no. I asked why not - the little lambs are so cute! He said, because they are brainless idiots, lady.

There is a quote from a novel, about being able to find anything you want in the Bible - love your neighbor, or kill him with the jawbone of an ass.

This This has been a point throughout Christianity. The whole celibacy for priests was Jesus was coming back any day now, surely you can keep it in your pants until then. There have been groups predicting Jesus will return any day now in particular around century points. As we approach those 100 marks surely the end will happen. So wow, we have a more connected media to share the number of doomsayers in any given Geographic area? Wow! 1. I've never heard that theory before. It was always the Church's way of retaining property not having any children of priests to contest inheritances. 2. The MSM and Govt pushes climate change, plastic pollution, guns/weapons of war, nuclear threat and Covid-bird flu epidemics non-stop.........you really think the kids are all stressed out cuz of the Bible peeps?
1 Corinthians 7 New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition Directions concerning Marriage 7 Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: “It is good for a man not to touch a woman.” 2 But because of cases of sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. 3 The husband should give to his wife what is due her and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; likewise, the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 5 Do not deprive one another except perhaps by agreement for a set time, to devote yourselves to prayer, and then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 6 This I say by way of concession, not of command. 7 I wish that all were as I myself am. But each has a particular gift from God, one having one kind and another a different kind. 8To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain unmarried as I am. 9 But if they are not practicing self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to be aflame with passion. 10 To the married I give this command—not I but the Lord—that the wife should not separate from her husband 11 (but if she does separate, let her remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband) and that the husband should not divorce his wife. 12 To the rest I say—I and not the Lord—that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever and she consents to live with him, he should not divorce her. 13 And if any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever and he consents to live with her, she should not divorce the husband. 14 For the unbelieving husband is made holy through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy through the brother. Otherwise, your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. 15 But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so; in such a case the brother or sister is not bound. It is to peace that God has called us.[c] 16 Wife, for all you know, you might save your husband. Husband, for all you know, you might save your wife.
