I am not really a Metallica fan. I am a "Master of Puppets" fan.

Justice gets criticized a lot for the drop in bass agility compared to the albums with Cliff Burton. I was listening to my radio station (KGB metalshop) when they announced Burton's death. I was quite sad about it. Ride the Lightning Yeah he was one of the great bassists who got cut down early. Same thing happened to Randy Rhodes. Both gone too early.

I don't have a favorite Mettallica album, and I'll probably never listen to this band ever again in my life. Any reason?

I like Lightning and Puppets about the same, but if for whatever reason I have to pick one over the other I’m choosing Lightning. The very same for me.

Justice gets criticized a lot for the drop in bass agility compared to the albums with Cliff Burton. Jason got pretty bullied during his time in Metallica. He could never really replace Cliff in their view. The Work in Progress recordings of ...And Justice For All on Spotify sound better than the actual album. Then you've got professionally remastered versions you can find online where the bass has been restored.
