Risks? LOL.
This is closer: "That's always an issue," the actor admitted. "If I stopped working, yeah. Am I set for life? Yeah, but maybe not on a 63-acre ranch!"

I would think that it has probably gone up in value massively since 1988.

He bought it in 1988 but still doesn't have it paid off? He might but property taxes on it alone must be… unthinkable.

I would think that it has probably gone up in value massively since 1988. The property taxes too. If he’s smart, he’s already had a tax attorney grieve the property’s assessment for him.

It’s why all those Hollywood stars buy ranches in Montana or wherever. Even Julia Roberts went with New Mexico. 63 acres in Ventura County, I can’t imagine the taxes. Good for him. Not to sound like a nutter, but to be honest he’s probably one of the few people born in the US who owns that kind of land in California who didn’t inherit it with some kind of now obsolete cap grandfathered in. If it’s anything like NY and Greenwich, there’s a good amount of Arab, East Asian and possibly South Asian land owners who can afford those kind of tax payments. I gotta root for Selleck on this one. Don’t worry about him as a neighbor. He’s clearly very ‘California or bust!’

'"If I stopped working, yeah. Am I set for life? Yeah, but maybe not on a 63-acre ranch!"' I don't think he's saying he's broke. I think he's saying that without a regular income stream a ranch is a luxury he can't afford. I mean, keeping a ranch running ain't cheap.

Since Kramer was in a thread tonite..........how is this for a coffee table book?
A collection of all of the massive estates over the years, including those that were eventually handed over to the State/Feds because of the cost to maintain.........as well as those the States have decided are just to costly to maintain.
