So damn me for trying to live by our better angels? When I was young & married I had anger & such, but what does it get one? Does being angry at a driver that cuts one off get one anywhere? Why not try to live by the rule of 3? Yeah, I still do the occasional "fuck you", but I don't hold it. I prefer to think the way they live will reward or punish them. I have shared my terrarium theory with you. That earth is a terrarium so we can throw the balance off.
Angels? Do you have some sort of scientific basis for belief in angels?
You're an expert at letting it all slide. One might say too good at it. I might be that one.
We're not a very nice species. Good luck with fixing that or letting it slide forever.

Nobody said the wealthy didn't create jobs. What they said was that not taxing them doesn't create MORE jobs. Yeah, not sure where he's getting that claim...

More money LEFT in your pocket doesn't lead to more spending, saving or investing on your part?

Abraham Lincoln First Inaugural Address March 4, 1861 It is a political quote. Absolutely nothing to do with believing in angels. Only that we can be better. Remember Supernatural? Did you get to Jack? When people have to be their best, they can be. Jack I have said I used to believe I was a pessimist, but I have come to realize I am a realistic optimist. I believe in people being basically good, but am.not shocked when things go south. Like my clients. I always hoped they would comply, but wasn't shocked when they stuck with old patterns.

If he's not paying as much in taxes, then he can afford to pay for a few more employees And therein lies the problem with trickledown economics as it now falls on those more employees to pay for the system that Richard Branson directly makes his money from. He pays them. The government takes whatever taxes they owe out of their paychecks. Richard Branson gets tax cuts.

Dismiss it as such. Why shouldn't they pay the same percent of their income in taxes that I do? Why should the tax codes allow them to pay less? Looking for that even break.

I'm not either, but should we be electing them to high office so they can keep richer and us poorer?

Lincoln was for sure a Believer. He'd be mocked for it today. And many Libertarians think he was the first to truly abuse the power of the Federal Govt.
But yeah........we all CAN be better. Unfortunately for you optimists, a growing number of people still choose to NOT be better. And then you reward them for it.
I think I'm a bit more realistic than you. It's WHY I've always said you were a good personality for that kinda work. Your ability to ignore the way people really are and not become overly jaded.

The only one keeping you poorer is YOU. The sooner millions of people come to that realization, the better off they'll be.

Why shouldn't EVERYONE pay the same rates? Why should 1/2 the country be Net Losses year after year, generation after generation?
Just think about WHY people spend so much getting people elected and donating to them. And meanwhile many politicians are handing out 'freebies' for votes.
What a monumental waste of everyone's time & money.

YES... ...and we, the spending class, would have more money in our pockets if we didn't have to pay the taxes that the production class avoids. The real irony is... We would be spending most of it on buying more of their products... Edit:.. or, as you admit... We would invest in them.

Trickle Up economics?
I don't think their products would sell more........ unless they're in the tobacco, alcohol or drug trades, of course. Maybe lottery, too?
