Women. I work in a male dominated industry, and I’m a manager over mostly men and a few women. The men are by far the whiniest and the ones that most need their ego stroked and pats on the back.

I can probably count on one hand the number of female co-workers I’ve had in 35 years. I mean, obliviously there were women in the companies I worked for, but I rarely worked with them directly.

I have worked for men and women. Men are easier to work for. Women have this need to try and throw their weight around.

My field isn't as much of a sausage fest as it used to be but men outnumber the women still. In general I don't think I care either way.
One weird side effect at my office is that most of the upper management people are women. The main reason for that is because it's not usually worth it for the engineers to move to to management level since the pay difference is so small. Which means that the only people going for it are the generic administrator types that are more female. Since they don't have a technical background they don't really understand a lot of what's going on so all they can do is micromanage and make people miserable.
But that's not really a gender thing, just a management thing that's a result of the backwards incentives the pay structure creates. Also don't listen to anything I just said because I don't understand a lot of what I'm doing either. But at least I don't micromanage my team.
