That was always my thought whenever people spoke about an asteroid turning the air into junk. Instead of hiding in a big underground complex or cave, to have multiple super vacuums taking the junk to the underground.
But the rich people would hate that idea, because then they couldn't fantasize about poor people dying.

Mammoth will be able to pull 36,000 tons of carbon from the atmosphere a year at full capacity, according to Climeworks. That’s equivalent to taking around 7,800 gas-powered cars off the road for a year.
So it will literally take a little more than a million of these things to offset carbon emissions.
I hope Iceland has a lot of geothermal energy...
