Sam Fisher pleaded guilty to 6 counts of trafficking and 3 counts of possession. He was trying to traffick 996g of mephthanphetamines and 82g of coke. He tried to stash the drugs in a rangehood he purchased commercially and pass the drugs on via a Melbourne patisserie owned by co-accused Julien Morvan's father.
The latest in a long line of evidence that drugs fucking suck, Fisher was a 2x St Kilda best and fairest, an all-Australian and pretty much a universally respected player over his 228 game career before he got lost in addiction following his 2016 retirement.
Silver lining is that Fisher appears to have gotten himself help during his 105 days in custody and we can only hope he beats his demons. Judge went easier than he could have. 5 year sentence with a chance to get out in 3 years. If he stays clean and behaves he'll be 44 when he tastes freedom again. Barracking for him to do something with his life.
