This is what a club whose status outweighs their success will add to Germany's top flight, both on and off the pitch. Give me Hamburger Sport-Verein any day.

The Millerntor Stadium, located at the heart of the St. Pauli quarter, sports the phrase "Kein Mensch ist illegal" ("No person is illegal"), a known slogan for refugee rights in the German-speaking community.

In light of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, some of St. Pauli's 59 registered international fan clubs were not happy with the messages the club and many of its organized supporter groups had communicated.
While there has been no official siding with Israel as such, the club and its Germany-based organized group sent messages in support of the Hapoel Tel Aviv team and their many supporters affected by the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7. That support was due to the yearslong friendship between the two clubs' main ultra groups, Ultras Hapoel and Ultra Sankt Pauli.
Fan clubs withdraw support
The conflict between the club's supporters reached a point where St. Pauli's fan club board spokesperson issued a statement, calling for the international fan clubs to revisit the style of their social media posts about the war in the Middle East in the wake of Hamas' terrorist attacks, which led to the death of some 1,200 Israelis.
"Some clubs and their statements are already borderline, some even cross the line," said to the statement, titled "terrorism is not resistance."
FC St. Pauli did use their account to raise awareness for a fundraiser for the civil population in Gaza, where more than 35,500 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli offensive, according to the Hamas-run health authorities. But for a few of the club's international fan clubs, it was far from enough.
Lots of Jew haters in Celtic FC’s Green Brigade … even forced a Jewish player out of the club with their hate and ignorance.

I was cheering on Holstein Kiel for the title, but promotion is good enough. I think they'll be outmatched in the BL, though perhaps not. Heidenheim have done unexpectedly really well this season.

Our win against Kiel helped saving the season for Kaiserslautern, it was close... Our last game against Braunschweig went 5:0 🤩 So we can look forward for our beating against Leverkusen in the Cup Final with coolness. 😎

I'm glad they stayed up.

Kaiserslautern has a history of quite surprising events. As a fan one is often close to an heart attack, just see: In 1996 they had to leave the 1. Liga after a draw against Leverkusen (1:1) The picture of friends Andy Brehme (FCK) and Rudi Völler (Leverkusen) hugging each other emotionally after the game were historical. (They knew each other well bc of "Die Mannschaft") Even more historical was that just some days later Kaiserslautern won the Cup against Karlsruhe SC ! But even more astonishing: Kaiserslautern immediatly promoted again after the relegation and won the German championship in 1998 ! (Michael Ballack had been starting his career 1997-1999 as a team member) Unfortunately, this was followed by a long phase of financial arrogance, which broke the club's back so badly that they were relegated to the third division and had to fear for their existence. Miro Klose (playing 1999–2004 for Kaiserslautern and starting his career there) couldn't save them longterm and switched to Bremen. Another factoid worth to be mentioned: a lot of first class goalies got their basic training with Kaiserslautern bc of the excellent goalie coach there (Andreas Reinke, Kevin Trapp, Roman Weidenfeller, Tim Wiese, ... ) In case You are interested www.rlptoday.de/rheinland-pfalz-sport/fussball/fck-pokalfinale-dfb-berlin-1996-leverkusen-meister-abstieg-3459219(German)
So we probably get our deserved beating but given our tendencies for surprises I'd guess that the chance of winning against Leverkusen is bigger than 5%. ;)
