Amazon and Jeff Bezos are pure evil. I remember a couple of years back when Amazon forced workers to stand in security lines up to thirty minutes a day, refused to pay then for their time, and the workers took the case all the way to the Supreme Court, and predictably the court sided with Amazon 9-1. Even most of the so-called liberals sided with them.
That's awful IMO, a company should pay people for their time when they are at the work site and doing an activity mandated by the employer.
So it doesn't surprise me to learn that Whole Foods, now owned by Amazon, treats is workers like shit.

I used to say that, but I swear to God, Ebay has better prices *if* you shop a while.

Whole Foods used to be rated one of the best places to work. They gave huge discounts to their employees and all sorts of perks. One of them was a great health care plan that was outlawed entirely by Obamacare. CEO rightfully called it fascism. This was an inside job.

Whole Foods currently has zero full time employees. I have never seen any liberals apologize for promising this would never happen.

Whole Foods currently has zero full time employees. I have never seen any liberals apologize for promising this would never happen. Really? Nothing but part timers, even the management? Technically corporate has full time, but at the actual stores no, and yes including management. Whole Foods was always kind of a hippie culture. If you read about the founder, he used to live and sleep inside the store. The management was structured loosely and the company treated you like family with all the perks. You can still find all the ratings guides about it being the number one best company to work for, from a decade ago. But now, all the old timers especially, who largely are in management, are actually being pressured and forced out, so they don’t collect the very generous benefits like retirement. There are managers with 20+ years who are choosing to leave out of fear. It’s a massive crackdown. They are firing people on the spot left and right for trumped up crap like eating food without requisitioning it first. First offense. One employee accepted a chicken wing from another employee, they watched him on camera, and fired him on the spot, for receiving it! This is one of Amazon’s big contributions, cameras everywhere, for the employees. And people paid to monitor them. Amazon wants to eventually have sensors on the shelves so customers can walk into the store with their phones logged in, and be able to walk out of the store without going through checkout or cashiers. The customer service is already gone. It started with Obamacare killing their unique health care plan. That’s something that made them vulnerable to takeover in the first place. Now it looks more like sabotage. I understand that Amazon hates employees, but they’re destroying the store from the customer point of view. That still surprises me, but then I just have to remember, oh yeah, this is the same corporation that killed my favorite internet discussion board.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they disgruntled the wrong person and got some blowback. Hopefully every bad move they make is an opportunity for a competitor to step in. Thinking outside the box, like Uber, there are small farm market style delivery companies popping up. One more reason to be glad Hillary lost. People like her try to outlaw anything agile enough to evade bureaucracy, the “on-demand economy”. Whole Foods wants $7.99/lb for grass fed ground beef. Target has it on sale for $3.75/lb. Just avoid all the transgender bathrooms.

Thats so dicked up. Someone needs to come up with a new website with everything like Amazon does.. Im sick of Bezos' bs. Another thing to mention about Amazon’s angle is that everyone in the business world wanted Whole Foods’ trade secrets for prepared food, and the whole production chain for it. That’s where Whole Foods excelled and had the best profit margin. They self-brand an entire line and the meals that they made in the store tasted more like restaurant quality than grocery store quality, plus they tended to be made from scratch and often organic ingredients which you wouldn’t even get from fancy expensive restaurants. Some of the stores actually have little imitation restaurants inside with made-to-order meals, seafood, bouillabaisse. How many restaurant chains have that? People in cities go to Whole Foods to eat a business lunch. So to beat Whole Foods, you have to beat that. It’s not hard to see why they were growing, rapidly, until a few years ago. Amazon is already closing stores. Amazon also plans to delevop and push more of the prepackaged meal “kits”, where a bunch of ingredients come packaged together for simple preparation at home. I kind of hope that fails badly.

Media won’t touch them. Heck they literally own the Washington Post. They give millions for Dreamer scholarships, and they fight Net Neutrality. The rich white liberals who shop at Whole Foods hate workers as much as they do. But that’s a good idea.
