Any fans of this sequel? Not as good as the original film, but still an entertaining sequel overall. It does maintain a good sense of continuity with the original, the actors easily pick up their characters where they left off, and the training montage and final fight provide satisfying audience enjoyment. My only complaint is I don't think we needed to spend so much time watching Rocky brood and sit around in the hospital while Adrian is in a coma before she gets out of it. We know she's going to wake up and give Rocky the training motivation, and I don't think it shouldn't have taken as long for it to happen. Until "Rocky V", it was the last time the movies were serious boxing dramas before becoming over-the-top entertaining popcorn movies with "Rocky III" and "Rocky IV". Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: Rocky II (1979) - 3 out of 4 stars
"Officially a sequel, this slightly silly film is more of a rehash, but the climactic bout (and buildup to it) hits home."
