Damn, you're the jingle review king. Paul Williams wrote jingles to pay the rent while composing some of the finest songs of the 20th century.

Some time ago, I read that TV advertisers realized early on (like in the 1950s) that it was children who watched the commercials.
The kids knew the jingles and could sing them.
They also knew that kids influenced their Moms in grocery stores so the cereal commercials were really important.
I think Soap Operas got this name because they sold soap in TV commercials to housewives who watched the daily dramas. :)
