187 ground anomalies found near residential school in Canada

Earlier this week, the Assembly of First Nations’ B.C. Regional Chief Terry Teegee suggested that the absence of any physical evidence of human remains in suspected grave sites could be explained by the “incinerators” that were present at most residential schools.

Nearly all the solutions proposed so far by the Trudeau Liberals, by academics and by the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) are destined to fail because they are seeking to solve the wrong problem – i.e. systemic white racism.

You may recall that when the final report of the $54-million MMIWG inquiry came out in 2019, it perpetuated the “progressive” stereotypes that white men murdered most Indigenous victims and white police did almost nothing about the crimes.

The inquiry’s final report even called the situation “a Canadian genocide” and chief commissioner, Marion Buller, said there was a “deliberate, race, identity and gender-based genocide” going on in Canada against Indigenous women.

In most cases (86%), “the person accused of their homicide was also Indigenous.”

In short, most murdered Indigenous women were killed by Indigenous men (and occasionally another Indigenous woman).

Indeed, police lay charges in nearly as many murder cases in which the female victim is Indigenous (87%) and cases where the victim is non-Indigenous (90%).

Another statistic that the latest report uncovered is that “the average length of custody when the victim was an Indigenous woman or girl was 11.4 years. This was three years shorter, on average, than when she was non-Indigenous (14.4 years).”

Since 1999, judges have been compelled to give Indigenous criminals lighter sentences because of the general hardships of growing up Indigenous – family breakup, alcohol and drug abuse, poverty and the hangover from residential schools.

So, because most Indigenous murder victims are killed by other Indigenous people, and because the courts are compelled to give Indigenous criminals lighter sentences, one of the unintended consequences has been shorter average sentences for the murderers of Indigenous women.[/quote}
