The Platters are among the greatest do-wop groups in history. It’s lead singer, tenor Tony Williams, is unparalled. A tremendous influence on early rock and roll.
The song was written by Jerome Kern and Otto Harbach for the 1933 musical “Roberta” which became a movie in 1935. The song was sung by Irene Dunne in the film. The movie is most famous as the third pairing of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.
