Other than some grade Z horror flicks that ended up as fodder for MST3K, Battlefield Earth is the worst movie I've ever seen. The "plot holes" page on IMDb is bigger than War and Peace

But that movie demonstrated that illiterate laborers could learn to fly Harrier jump jets in a matter of minutes and easily outfly seasoned alien fighter pilots in an epic dogfight.
And of course jets sitting around a few hundred years with no maintenance would remain in perfect condition. The British know how to make things that last.

I still haven't seen this movie.
I've only seen some clips and ended laughing out loud at how pathetic and horrendous it looked and sounded.

There were 2 things that made that movie rally stupid.
!.) Thousand year old jets that were operational.
2.) Humans could be taught to fly these stupid jets.
3.) A bonus. If the humans couldn't defeat the aliens
with those jets a thousand years. How is it that a second
go around with humans who were subjected to some uploaded
program into their minds could fair better. I don't think
it's just the movie. I think the book is stupid. You really
gotta surrender some disbelief with this one.
