Tudor Englnd Was Multicultural

For Dr Onyeka Nubia, who has long been labouring at the task of breaking the hegemony and adducing evidence of a far more diverse Tudor population than previous generations have believed, this is another weapon in his war against received wisdom. For the rest of us, it – and the programme as a whole – is a reminder that historical narratives are as shaped as any story, if more subconsciously so.
