"The Tenant" really nailed it for me as an almost perfect psychological horror. What a film! The whole movie had this creepy vibe that kept me on edge. The performances were top-notch, and the setting was just super creepy, a tad bit similar to Rosemary's baby but I didn't realize it was part of Roman Polanski's Apartment trilogy. I thought the story was off to a slow start but it did a great job showing the lead's slow descent into madness, kinda lovecraftian. I feel like I've been missing out on this the whole time. The atmosphere was anxiety inducing but Isabelle Adjani was eye candy though! I haven't checked out "Repulsion" yet, but I'm wondering if it has that same kind of vibe... Roman Polanski's signature "Peephole Distortion" shot from the three films that make up his Paranoia Trilogy aka Apartment Trilogy

I’m a Polanski fan, but I didn’t like Repulsion. It’s very slow and artsy. Not for me, but a lot of people love it.

Repulsion is terrific but very hard to watch.Deneuve is fantastic. I think pretty much all Polanski films are well made but some of them like 'The Tenant' require more patience than we are comfortable with but the climax makes the long wait worthwhile though you'd have to be in the mood for a movie like that to actually enjoy it.

I love The Tenant. It's one of my favourite psychological horrors. Have yet to see Repulsion.

I like all three films a lot Rosemary and Tenant have that eerie lovecraftian vibe. Somewhat cosmic and twisted as opposed to generic jump scare horrors!

I enjoyed all three. While dealing with very similar themes and reusing some of the same ideas, they still all feel very different. Of the three The Tenant is my favorite followed by Rosemary's Baby and then Repulsion. Repulsion is still good, but it did not leave as much of an impact on me as the other two... with the exception of one scene which is absolutely haunting visually. HANDS!!!!!

The Tenant was really intriguing ad it reminded me of Dagon when it comes to the psychological impact of seeing something Lovecraftian, but Rosemary's Baby creeped me out way more with all those Satanic elements. The old people cult and the Tanis root thing were so unsettling. I've yet to see Repulsion, but I agree it probabaly wont leave as much of an impact on me like the other two did.
