I changed my avatar 5 minutes after arriving here and even now when I go to change it, the avatar I put up shows up in the "upload avatar" section but nothing is showing up

Or maybe PM'ing him and letting him know that you're having a problem uploading your avatar? I didn't see any particular "HELP" section, but I think ADMIN is as close as you'll get. |

Go back to settings in edit profile. Tick the box that says "use only uploaded/linked" save settings. That should work.
